Fieldwork Policies
Students should review the School of Education Mary T. Kellner Teacher Education Center Field Experience Handbook regarding policies and procedures related to required field experiences. Many programs also have their own separate field experience handbook. Students are responsible for knowing and complying with School and program policies and procedures.
Criminal Background Checks
In addition to the background check required at admissions to our programs, school districts typically run criminal background checks on students placed in their schools.

Tuberculin Testing
Some school districts require a TB test to be conducted within 90 days of any field experience. If you are placed in one of these school districts for a field experience, you will be contacted directly by the district before the start of your placement regarding test result submission.
Applying to Student Teach (Music & PE Programs Only)
Students in Music or Physical Education program must complete a student teaching application a year in advance of their student teaching semester.
