Nancy Coulter

Nancy Coulter is the Field Experience Coordinator for teacher education programs in the School of Education. Nancy is the primary contact and liaison for the Schools’ field experience operations for teachers, principals, district personnel, faculty, and staff. She has been responsible for interpreting policies and advising faculty around field experience protocols and processes. Nancy works with faculty, staff, PK-12 school administration, and DPI to develop field experience plans based on the needs of UW–Madison pre-service teachers. She leads field experience orientation sessions for students, edit policy documents and handbooks, oversees the online system by which cooperating personnel in schools are solicited to participate, conducts annual new supervisor workshop for new faculty and graduate student supervisors, and develops online qualifying workshops for prospective cooperating teachers. As well as coordinating all of the field experience placements for Teacher Education programs, Nancy plans and implements the Partners in Education banquet and cooperating teacher awards, coordinates special placements, and serves as the liaison between UW–Madison and the Urban Institute for Education, Wisconsin Improvement Program, and DPI regulations for field experiences.
